Gary Hui

Portfolio Manager
B Com (Acc/Fin), GDip Appl Fin

Gary has over twenty-five years experience garnered as a portfolio manager, buy-side equity analyst and investment banker.

Prior to founding Geometrica in 2019, Gary was the Lead Portfolio Manager of ASX listed Contrarian Value Fund (CVF) which generated 23.1% p.a. returns during his tenure. Gary also spent seven years as a Managing Director for Indus Capital, a $4.7b US hedge fund founded by former Soros Fund Management partners from 2007 to 2013. Whilst at Indus, Gary was a specialist short seller for a number of years.

Prior to this Gary spent seven years at J.P. Morgan as an investment banker (M&A, Equity Capital Markets and Derivatives) after initially commencing his career as an Accountant.

Gary graduated from UNSW with a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Accounting & Finance, then qualified as a Chartered Accountant after completing the Institute of Chartered Accountants professional year program. He later completed a graduate diploma of Applied Finance with the Securities Institute where he received the national prize in Mergers & Acquisitions.

Ben Wolrige

Ben has over sixteen years experience as a portfolio manager and analyst.

Prior to co-founding Geometrica, Ben spent five years as a Co-Portfolio Manager of ASX listed Contrarian Value Fund (CVF). Before this, Ben was an Investment Analyst at VGI Partners – an Australian hedge fund investing globally. He has also worked at Corality Financial Group, a financial modelling consultancy after commencing his career with Macquarie Bank.

Ben graduated from UTS with Bachelor of Business, majoring in Accounting. He then completed the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Program, Chartered Accountants (CA) Program and a Masters of Science (specialising in Economics) concurrently. Ben has also lectured for the CFA Institute and University College London in Economics and Project Finance.

James Bradley

Head of Data & Analyst
B Music, M Econ (Econometrics)

James has over five years experience as an analyst.

Prior to co-founding Geometrica, James worked at Wilsons Advisory Group as an Equity Research Analyst. While at Wilsons, he developed “Data Insights”, a programmatic evidence-based research product.

James was previously a classical musician, having performed in numerous orchestras and chamber ensembles.

James graduated from the University of Sydney with a Masters of Economics, specialising in Econometrics and Quantitative Finance.
